Connect Claude Code

Before you start

  • A FlaMap account, and access to its email inbox.
  • Claude Code installed and signed in.
  • A browser on the same machine, for the sign-in page.

One line

claude mcp add --transport http flamap https://api.flamap.app/mcp

This adds FlaMap for the current project. To have it in every project, add --scope user:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user flamap https://api.flamap.app/mcp

Steps

  1. Run the one-liner above in a terminal.
  2. Start Claude Code: claude.
  3. Type /mcp. Select flamap, then Authenticate. A page on flamap.app opens in your browser.
  4. Sign in to FlaMap (Google or an emailed code).
  5. Read what Claude Code is asking for and where your data goes. Tick the consent box (Approve stays greyed out until you do), then select Approve.
  6. The browser says you can close it. Go back to the terminal.

Check that it works

  1. Type /mcp again. flamap should show as connected, with its tools listed.
  2. Ask: "Using flamap, what is my FTP?"

Claude Code asks permission the first time it calls each tool. All FlaMap tools are read-only.

You can also check from the shell: claude mcp list.

Your first real question

"Using flamap, list my rides from last week and tell me which one was hardest, and why."

More ideas are in the README.

Disconnect

In Claude Code: /mcp → flamap → Clear authentication signs you out. To remove the server entirely:

claude mcp remove flamap

Add --scope user if you added it with that scope.

In FlaMap: open flamap.app/settings/ai-assistants and revoke Claude Code. See the privacy page.

If something goes wrong

  • /mcp shows flamap as failed or needing auth: select it and Authenticate again.
  • No browser opens (remote shell, container): Claude Code prints a link. Open it on a machine where you can sign in.
  • More in the README troubleshooting.
