Connect Cursor

Not yet tested. We haven't walked through these steps in Cursor ourselves yet, so a menu or button may be named differently. If something doesn't match, tell us at support@flamap.app.

Before you start

  • A FlaMap account, and access to its email inbox.
  • Cursor, desktop app.

One line

Add this to ~/.cursor/mcp.json to have FlaMap in every project, or to .cursor/mcp.json in one project. Create the file if it does not exist.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "flamap": {
      "url": "https://api.flamap.app/mcp"
    }
  }
}

If the file already has an mcpServers block, add only the "flamap": { … } entry inside it. Do not add a client ID or secret: FlaMap registers Cursor on its own.

Or open this install link on the machine where Cursor runs:

cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=flamap&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL2FwaS5mbGFtYXAuYXBwL21jcCJ9

Steps

  1. Add the config above, or open the install link.
  2. Open Cursor's MCP settings. FlaMap is listed there.
  3. Select the login or connect button next to FlaMap. A page on flamap.app opens in your browser.
  4. Sign in to FlaMap (Google or an emailed code).
  5. Read what Cursor is asking for and where your data goes. Tick the consent box (Approve stays greyed out until you do), then select Approve.
  6. Go back to Cursor. FlaMap shows as connected, with its tools listed.

Check that it works

  1. Open the chat in Agent mode.
  2. Ask: "Using flamap, what is my FTP?"

Cursor asks before it runs each tool, unless you have turned that off. The answer should show your FTP and your estimated FTP over recent months.

If it does not connect, open the Output panel and pick MCP Logs to see why.

Your first real question

"Using flamap, list my ten longest rides this year as a table."

More ideas are in the README.

Disconnect

In Cursor: turn FlaMap off in the MCP settings, or delete the flamap entry from mcp.json.

In FlaMap: open flamap.app/settings/ai-assistants and revoke Cursor. Access ends within an hour, when its current sign-in expires. See the privacy page.

If something goes wrong

  • FlaMap shows an error or no tools: check the JSON is valid and the URL ends in /mcp, then restart Cursor.
  • It keeps asking you to log in: revoke Cursor on flamap.app, then log in again from Cursor.
  • More in the README troubleshooting.
